In 2008, the Michigan Legislature permitted removal of offender's information from OTIS after three years had elapsed from the discharge date. If an offender resumes supervision with the MDOC, all public records will be available on the website until three years has again elapsed from the discharge date of the most recent MDOC jurisdiction or supervision term.

Kalamazoo County to seek bids for next jail telecommunications contract - NowKalamazoo
The Kalamazoo County Commission is preparing a bid process for a new contract to provide phone and video services to those incarcerated at the Kalamazoo County Jail. The current contract, with ViaPath Technologies, has come under scrutiny and raised community concerns after a NowKalamazoo investigation found a large portion β sometimes a majority β of the fees paid to use the system were profits directed to county coffers.

KVET Operation Nets Fentanyl, Firearms, and More Kalamazoo Public Safety
On January 14th, 2026, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and Crime Reduction Team (CRT) executed multiple search warrants following an investigation into drug sales. The locations of the search warrants were as follows: 6000 block of Abbey St in Comstock Township and the 100 block of N 2nd St in Oshtemo Township. All search warrants were the result of the same investigation.
